This course is an introduction to the Earned Value Management (EVM) technique for measuring and monitoring project delivery progress and how EVM is applied in Primavera P6 EPPM.

Part one of this course conveys the basic principles of EVM without recourse to any software tool, although it does refer to Oracle Primavera P6 in a very basic way to illustrate Earned Value Management principles. A detailed knowledge of the tool is not required and delegates will be shown, step-by-step, how to access the required information using a step-by-step approach.

Part two is designed to give delegates a better understanding of how to implement Earned Value techniques in their P6 projects, with a considerable proportion of hands-on practice using a simple, sample project

It is not intended to provide complete P6 functionality, resource management, or administration skills. Those topics are covered in more detail in other courses.

Many of the slides will use the EPPM version of the product, however the instructor will point our differences, mostly in where various options are to be found, where appropriate.

For the lab exercises, unless specifically instructed, you may use either the instructions for the Web Access version, or the P6 Pro, depending on your own preference.
