RPC on Tour: Conferences and Events, Home and Away

Latest News - 28 Nov 2022

At RPC we’ve had a busy but exciting autumn of events and conferences. It’s always a pleasure to get out and about meeting clients, colleagues and new faces, sharing our knowledge and experiences, and learning from others.

Maybe we met you at one or more of these events? Hopefully we’ll see you at some of them again next year ...

PMIS Conference

Event season kicked off for us with the PMIS Conference 2022 in Dublin at the end of September. This annual event is Ireland’s foremost project controls conference and, as always, our partners at PMIS brought together an agenda of insightful presentations and a room of interested project controls professionals whilst raising funds for UNICEF at the same time.

Project Controls Expo USA

Some of the team travelled to Washington DC early in October to attend the inaugural PCE USA. We’ve been regulars at PCE UK for many years, and it was exciting to be part of this new venture in the States, where we were able to present on two occasions: detailing our work helping the UK Armed Forces to maximise value in procurement with an Earned Value solution and how our Unifier Solution Sets can help to ensure Governance and Compliance in Contract Management. We made some promising new contacts, identified prospects across the Atlantic and found out just how much we have in common with our fellow professionals in other parts of the world.

EVA27

Hot on the heels of PCE USA came EVA27, at the impressive Armourers’ Hall in Moorgate, London. This two-day event centred around the principles and challenges of Earned Value in project controls, focused specifically this time on the theme: Project Performance in Turbulent Times – acknowledging the difficulties of operating during a pandemic and the post-pandemic reset and the latest turbulence of these difficult and uncertain financial times. Presentations touched on decision-making, managing change, risk performance, performance management, payment control, lessons learned and more – a two-day masterclass in effective project controls!

Project Controls Expo UK

November saw us back at Project Controls Expo, but this time in Wembley for the UK event. We were delighted to be joined in our Case Study presentation by Mark O’Brien, Head of Programme Controls at Dublin Airport, who spoke with Nathan Lambert about the integrated programme controls solution RPC has developed and implemented with daa. It’s fantastic to be able to hear the client’s voice in discussions about solutions we’ve provided and the presentation sparked multiple subsequent discussions at the event with delegates who were listening in the packed audience. If you missed it you can hear what Dublin Airport have to say in our video here and read more about the project in our case study.

APM Awards

The final event of this busy season is a culmination of a busy and successful year not just for RPC but for the entire project management profession, celebrating achievements, innovations and resilience at the APM Awards Dinner on 21st November. RPC has been proud to sponsor this event for the past five years. We’re strong believers in the 3 P’s of project management, but the ‘P’ that’s most important to us is the ‘People’, and that is what this particular event is all about. People working together to deliver successful projects across all industries and sectors and having their effort recognised and rewarded. It’s a great pleasure to be part of the event and to present some of the awards to the worthy winners.

We raised a glass to the fabulous RPC team, to all our clients, colleagues and fellow professionals in celebration of a year of project excellence and to toast another successful year ahead.
