If you work with NEC Contracts, you’ll understand how burdensome the process of compliance can be. Renowned NEC Expert, Dr Jon Broome, is presenting at this year’s PCE UK, exploring the ins and outs of NEC Contracts and the out-of-the-box solution that will help you to take control.
Jon has 30 years of hands-on expertise in the NEC forms of contract and contract strategy for major projects and programmes. He trained as a civil engineer but quickly came to specialise in the contracts aspect of major construction and gained the world’s first PhD in the applied use of NEC Contracts. He’s one of the best known and most highly respected experts in his field.
We’re delighted to have Jon presenting with us at PCE UK this year. His presentation, ‘Take Control’ is about the work he is doing with RPC to integrate data generated within the Oracle Primavera Unifier-based NEC Contract Management solution into a wider project controls environment and it addresses what Jon sees as a major failing of other existing contract management systems and project controls in general.
In order to be efficient, accurate and in control, the outsourcing of the majority of activities on a major project via contracts requires an integration between contract controls and project controls. Without this in place, controls rely on manual data updates, human, error-prone data manipulation and experience time lags, inconsistencies, errors and more as a result.
Together with RPC’s Senior Consultant and resident NEC expert Nathan Lambert, Jon traces the data flows within a contract, extrapolates to view the bigger picture of forecasting and risk management errors and inconsistencies, considers how client and contractors communicate and interact both pre- and post-contract and asks the question: Is there a better way?
Make space in your diary to attend PCE UK on 7-8 November and particularly to attend Jon’s presentation on the morning of 8 November and find out.
