On 21 January, 2022, Stuart Andrew, MP for Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough, visited the RPC offices to find out more about how we have been growing our business, creating new jobs and helping to support the local community.
Stuart was able to meet some of our five apprentices and our one T-Level student from Shipley College who are working with our Technical Support and Marketing teams. At RPC, although our business takes us all over the world, we pride ourselves on maintaining a strong and supportive community focus are we are delighted to be building a close relationship with the college and helping to support these young people as they enter the workplace.
As part of our relationship with Shipley College, we were delighted to support their ‘World of Work Week’ in December. This initiative centres on promoting the qualities employers are looking for from employees within the workplace and helps to prepare students for their work placements and career journey. Our own Shipley College students bring expertise and a fresh outlook and are all valued members of the RPC team and a credit to the college.
Whilst he was with us, Stuart also inspected our newly installed Public Access Defibrillator. In normal times, there are around 30 people in the offices at the Hawksworth Estate where RPC is based, so this installation will serve those workers, but also walkers passing through the estate and residents on Tranmere Park and the surrounding area. It covers a gap in local defibrillators between White Cross and the Golf Club and offers a potentially life-saving service to the community here.
The defibrillator is installed next to the main door that faces the main gate and Thorpe Lane, about 50 meters from the main gate down first pathway on the right and is clearly visible from the driveway and we are grateful to David Whittaker of Electrics Your Way for his help in installing it at such a generous discount.
Stuart has been our local MP since 2010 and was the Guiseley and Rawdon Ward representative on Leeds City Council before that. He lives just a stone’s throw from the RPC offices, in Guiseley and we were pleased to show him round and introduce him to the work we do. “Great to visit RPC UK Ltd.,” he commented after his visit, “The community work the company are doing is fantastic.” Thanks for coming to see us, Stuart.
