Don’t miss our presentations at Project Controls Expo USA

Latest News - 16 Sep 2022

We're excited to have two speaking slots at the first Project Controls Expo USA. They're great opportunities for us to share our knowledge and experience with colleagues in America and we're looking forward to meeting new and existing clients and fellow professionals there.

The event has a packed agenda on each of its three days. Day One is an activity day making the most of the baseball facilities at the Nationals Park venue, with batting and pitching practice for the brave and enthusiastic.

On Day Two, the Partner Showcase opens, with around 40 organisations in the Project Controls arena showcasing what they do, including Hexagon, Ares Prism, Deltek and many more. You'll find RPC at Stand 39 – come and see us there to find out about our latest developments in project controls solutions, including an ESG solution to support compliance and governance in contract management.

Also on Day Two, the Workshops and Speaking Zones open, with a full line-up of presentations in the Technology and Case Studies Zones and four half-day workshops. If you're interested in learning more about how our solutions build into a powerful integrated project controls approach, John Lister will be presenting a case study of our work with the MoD at 14:05 in the Case Studies Zone, Conference Center Kennedy

John has over 20 years’ experience in the Project Controls arena, particularly around the implementation of Oracle’s Primavera software. During this time, he has gained experience in various industry verticals including oil and gas, transportation, defence and utilities. He has a solid understanding of and extensive practical experience in the strategic issues pertaining to transformation and delivery of capital projects within these industries and has worked with numerous clients across the world.

Helping the UK Armed Forces to maximise value in procurement with an Earned Value solution

The UK Ministry of Defence’s Defence Equipment & Support procurement organisation (DE&S) is responsible for the acquisition and support of Defence Equipment on behalf of the UK Armed Forces, and manages a vast range of complex projects to buy, support and supply vital equipment and services that the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force need to operate effectively. The programme of work ranges from jets and warships through to armoured vehicles and field kitchens, with an annual spend of around £13Bn. The Earned Value solution delivered by RPCuk enables greater efficiency and more integrated control of the procurement process and in this presentation, John explores the challenges of working with such a large and disparate client, the development of the Earned Value solution put in place, and the benefits it is bringing to the Ministry of Defence procurement process, allowing DE&S to fully realise the planned benefits of an integrated project / portfolio management and control system.

Day Three continues the agenda of presentations with more Case Studies, a Masterclass Zone, the Megaprojects Zone and the Innovations Zone, where you will find Nathan Lambert at 14.05 in the Conference Center Roosevelt discussing Governance and Compliance in Contract Management.

Nathan joined RPC in 2021 with 15 years’ experience in the design, development, implementation and support of software solutions for a variety of public and private sector organisations both in the UK and the Middle East. The solutions Nathan has been involved with have been used to assist companies with Project Management, Drawing/Document Management and Planning with a primary focus in recent years on Contract Management specifically NEC4 and FIDIC. Nathan is now able to bring his knowledge and expertise to RPC, working with customers to understand their requirements and turn them into user friendly solutions within Primavera Unifier and ensuring maximum benefit is received for all stakeholders.

Governance and Compliance in Contract Management

Endorsed by the World Bank, the use of FIDIC contract terms is expanding worldwide – alongside other contract forms, such as NEC4 and JCT – and is increasingly mandatory on US Government contracts. In addition, proof of governance and compliance with Government environmental and social requirements (ESG) is often a requirement for public funding. Ensuring compliance with these terms on a multi-faceted project can be a complex process, involving multiple changes throughout the project’s lifecycle and continuous liaison with cost management, scheduling and reporting. Contract management software solutions help to simplify the task through automation and integration of systems, increasing productivity and minimising time and money lost to disputes. In particular, cloud-based solutions are a powerful tool in driving collaborative working, and are key to ensuring that business decisions are based on the most up-to-date data and that you are always communicating the right information to the right people at the right time. In this presentation, contract management specialist Nathan Lambert, explores how innovations in software solutions are helping to ease the administrative burden and take the pain out of governance and compliance in contract management.
