At RPC, we help organisations to deliver complex, high‑profile projects by putting robust, practical project controls systems in place. As demand for our services continues to grow, we’re expanding our technical delivery capability and are looking to welcome a Technical Consultant and a Senior Technical Consultant to our team.
If you enjoy hands‑on delivery, thrive on turning requirements into working solutions, and want to deepen your expertise in Oracle Primavera project controls systems, this could be the opportunity you’re looking for.
Both roles sit at the heart of our delivery teams, supporting the implementation of enterprise‑grade project controls solutions for clients across infrastructure, defence, construction, energy and beyond.
Working alongside experienced consultants, project managers and customers, you’ll be involved throughout the delivery lifecycle – from requirements and design, through configuration and testing, to knowledge transfer and handover. While much of our work is delivered remotely in a hybrid model, some travel within the UK (and occasionally further afield) is expected to support customer workshops, key delivery phases and on‑site collaboration when it adds real value.
Quality, accuracy and professionalism are central to how we work, and our consultants are trusted to take ownership of what they deliver.
Our Technical Consultant role is ideal for someone with a solid grounding in project controls delivery who is developing their technical implementation skills.
In this role, you’ll:
Configure and test project controls systems in line with approved designs and RPC standards
Work across multiple Oracle Primavera applications, including Oracle Primavera Unifier and at least one other supported technology such as P6 EPPM, Primavera Cloud, Integration Gateway, BI Publisher or OBIEE
Carry out functional and design testing using structured testing logs and documentation
Identify, investigate and resolve configuration and design issues
Maintain accurate delivery records to support governance and reporting
Support customer workshops, training and system handover activities, both remotely and on site where appropriate
You’ll work collaboratively within multi‑disciplinary delivery teams, take ownership of assigned tasks, and communicate clearly with project leads about progress, risks and issues. This is a hands‑on role that rewards attention to detail and a commitment to delivery excellence.
For those with deeper experience and a desire to take greater technical ownership, we also offer opportunities at Senior Technical Consultant level.
Senior Technical Consultants perform all the responsibilities of a Technical Consultant, while also acting as a technical lead within our delivery team. You’ll take ownership of defined workstreams or solution areas and play a key role in shaping how solutions are designed and delivered – often acting as the primary technical point of contact for customers during key project phases.
In this role, you’ll:
Act as the technical lead for a defined solution area or project workstream
Lead and facilitate customer requirements and design workshops, ensuring they are well‑structured, productive and aligned to delivery objectives
Translate business, functional and technical requirements into clear, complete solution designs
Ensure solutions align with RPC standards, delivery approaches and quality expectations
Coordinate and support the work of other technical consultants
Proactively identify and resolve delivery risks, dependencies and technical issues
Senior Technical Consultants are expected to engage directly with customers as trusted technical advisors, whether delivering workshops, supporting complex implementations, or providing hands‑on leadership during critical delivery phases – including on‑site support when required.
Across both roles, technical capability matters, but so does the willingness to keep improving.
As you progress, you’ll:
Build and demonstrate strong hands‑on expertise across Oracle Primavera applications
Hold and maintain relevant Oracle certifications aligned to the technologies you deliver
Develop a strong understanding of integrations, data flows, testing and delivery governance
Contribute to internal knowledge‑sharing, training materials and continuous improvement initiatives
Help refine RPC’s delivery approaches, documentation and technical standards
Senior Technical Consultants play a particularly important role in driving best practice, mentoring others, and strengthening the consistency and quality of delivery across the business. Due to the nature of the work, which often requires Security Check (SC) clearance, both roles require UK residency and/or nationality.
